About the event
We’ve all eaten sauerkraut but chances are most of us haven’t eaten a true cultured food that contains all the life-giving elements of traditionally cultured (fermented) vegetables. Fermented vegetables are a delicious and highly nutritious food that is created when vegetables are cut, ground, or shredded, packed into containers, and left to ferment for a period of time at room temperature. Following the proper procedures, the resulting product is a wonderfully healing food rich in beneficial bacteria, enzymes, and other essential nutrients. The traditional method of culturing preserves and enhances vegetables, releasing their full flavor and health-promoting properties.
During this workshop, we will explore several different methods to ferment vegetables and get hands-on experience. You will have the opportunity to taste several varieties and will leave with your own jar of fermented vegetables that you helped to prepare. Space is limited, so register today!
