Yoga Teacher Training Agreement
Welcome to Your 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training!
This teacher training program is designed to help you bring awareness to every part of your life. In other words, this entire program is designed to help you feel confident and grounded in yoga tools and skills so that you can practice yoga in all parts of your life. Yoga is not only the postures, although we guarantee you will walk away knowing how to confidently structure and lead an excellent yoga class, whether that was your intention or not!
What is included?
Tuition covers all scheduled training hours including weekend intensives and additional workshops and programs at the studio during your training that are required for certification.
Manuals are included in training costs. Additional reading materials are required for full participation in the course and are not included in the cost. You will be provided a reading list prior to the training start date.
You will also receive your choice of a 20-Class Pass OR 50% discount off of an Unlimited Yoga Membership during the duration of the training with a 25% discount if continued after training completion.
Yoga teacher training completion does not guarantee or promise a position, career, or job with Wyld Roots Yoga or any other establishment.
Refund/Cancellation Policy
A full refund (less $500 application fee of which $400 may be applied to a subsequent training within one year) will be issued if cancellation occurs more than 30 days before program start date.
No refunds within 15 days of program start date. 50% refund if cancellation occurs between 29-15 days of program start date.
If WRY cancels the training, a full refund (including deposit) will be issued or students will be offered a transfer to another program.
Attendance, Progress and Dismissal Policy
Completion of a program and credit for class hours is based on a Pass/Fail system. Students must maintain a passing status assessed through academic standing based on attendance, class participation, completion of homework assignments, ability to lead classes they are assigned to teach, and completion of other class assignments. Students must also maintain a passing status assessed through attitude and willingness to participate in all events. Students who are falling short of meeting the criteria will be asked to have a consultation session for the purpose of clarifying expectations.
A 100% attendance policy is strictly enforced. You are strongly urged not to register for a teacher training program knowing that you will need to miss any time. Certification will be withheld until 100% attendance is completed. Any student may be dismissed for excessive absences, tardiness, incomplete homework assignments, and/or any social difficulties that have arisen.
If a student feels they cannot complete the program due to medical reasons or personal matters, a mandatory meeting with a Wyld Roots Yoga (WRY) representative will be arranged to pursue future options of either continuing the training with another group or completely withdrawing from the program. All meetings reflecting a student’s participation in the program will be documented and will include the decisions and/or conditions of continued registration in the program. The appropriate WRY representative will make the final decision.
Complaint Policy
Student Complaint Policy and Procedure
Student complaints should be brought to the attention of the Lead Teacher or any other WRY staff whom the student feels comfortable with to attempt resolution as described under the Grievance Procedure below. All reports will be investigated promptly and, to the extent possible, with regard to confidentiality. If the investigation confirms inappropriate conduct has occurred, WRY will take immediate, appropriate, corrective action, up to and including immediate termination from the training program.
No reprisal, retaliation, or other adverse action will be taken against a student for making a complaint or report of harassment or for assisting in the investigation of any such complaint or report. Any suspected retaliation or intimidation should be reported immediately. The report of a complaint will not affect the student’s fair evaluation in completing a program or course.
Grievance Procedure
Student complaints should be brought to the attention of the Lead Teacher or any other WRY staff with whom the student feels comfortable. The student should write and document their complaint, including any supportive information. The WRY representative will meet independently with all parties involved and has the right to investigate the situation. When a resolution is determined, the appointed WRY representative and student will meet and document the outcome of the meeting. All documentation will remain in WRY’s files.
Student Ethics
Yoga is a system of self-investigation, transformation, and realization. These teacher trainings are intense and intimate. To help create clear boundaries and expectations, we ask that you acknowledge and agree to the following as a Yoga Teacher Trainee:
1. I will devote myself to practicing Yoga as a way of life.
2. I will devote myself to remain a “student of Yoga” throughout our lives by continuing to study the art, science, and philosophy of Yoga in order to become better Yoga teachers.
3. I will treat all beings with respect, including our students.
4. I will respect and honor the long line of venerable teachers who came before me, dedicating myself to maintaining exceptional standards of professional competence and integrity.
5. I will endeavor to accurately represent my education, training, and experience relevant to teaching my style of Yoga.
6. I will strive not to be critical of any other style of Yoga or Yoga Teacher but use fairness in evaluating the circumstances.
7. I will express truthfulness in all relationships with students, family, and community.
8. I will welcome all students regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, financial status or national origin.
9. I will refer students to other qualified Yoga teachers when I do not possess the skills to teach them safely and properly (i.e: specific injuries or physical disabilities).
10. I will acknowledge the power differential between student and teacher and avoid exploiting the trust and potential dependency of such students. Teachers can instead encourage the student to find their own inner strength and wisdom and refer the student to another qualified Yoga teacher.
11. I will earnestly cultivate a high level of integrity and purity in matters of personal habits and decorum inside and outside the classroom.
12. I will avoid any form of sexual contact, intimidation, or harassment with students and teachers. I will be honest in my own sexual relationships.
By agreeing to the above policies, I accept responsibility for any and all I may take during my training and career as a Yoga Teacher.
Welcome to Wyld Roots Yoga Teacher Training!
